Lowestoft Scores Race is organised by Waveney Valley Athletic Club and provides a distinctive challenge through the historic Scores of Britain's most easterly town.
The senior race covers approximately 4.75 miles and takes competitors over 13 stepped and sloping Scores, incorporating around 401 steps. Starting and finishing on the upper High Street, the course repeatedly climbs and descends the narrow routes linking the town with the seafront, creating a demanding race with plenty of support from spectators.
A separate Junior Race for runners aged 9 to 15 covers approximately 1.4 miles and includes around 254 steps.
Christchurch provides the Race HQ, with bag storage, post race refreshments and prize giving. All participants receive a medal and commemorative T shirt, with prizes available across overall and age categories.
