London Epping Forest 50K is a Camino Ultra trail race starting and finishing at Wanstead Flats in East London.
The out-and-back route heads north through the green spaces of East London before travelling deep into Epping Forest. Runners tackle woodland trails, paths and open ground across a hilly course with around 500m of climbing. October conditions can make sections muddy, adding to the challenge while providing an accessible step into ultramarathon running for those moving up from shorter distances.
The course is well marked and supported by three aid stations stocked with food and drink. The race is chip timed, with finishers receiving a medal and trophies awarded to the leading runners. A proportion of entry fees supports restoration projects within Epping Forest.
