The Lakeland Trails Ultra is a mountain trail running event based in Ambleside, offering 100K, 55K, 23K and 14K distances through the heart of the Lake District National Park. From first time ultra runners to experienced mountain athletes, the event combines spectacular scenery with professionally organised and fully supported courses.
The 100K features an iconic midnight start and follows a demanding mountain route across some of the Lake District's finest trails. The 55K Ultra tackles three major mountain passes, while the 23K and 14K routes provide shorter but equally scenic challenges with panoramic views of Windermere, Rydal Water, Grasmere, Loughrigg and the Langdale Valley. All courses are fully waymarked and marshalled, with feed stations, professional medical support and live timing throughout.
The event village in Ambleside provides a lively atmosphere with entertainment, commentary, catering and retail stands for runners and spectators alike. Combining outstanding mountain scenery, challenging routes and exceptional event organisation, the Lakeland Trails Ultra has become one of the UK's premier summer trail running events.
