Knockfarrel Hill Race is an 8K hill race organised by Highland Hill Runners near Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands. Starting at Blackmuir Woods, the route heads onto the surrounding hills for a compact but demanding challenge with around 350m of climbing.
The course uses a mixture of landrover tracks and footpaths, with some very steep sections alongside muddy ground and exposed tree roots. The route is marked throughout, with marshals positioned at key junctions to help guide competitors around the course before they return towards the finish.
With substantial climbing packed into its 8K distance, Knockfarrel provides a testing race for hill runners and rewards strength across steep and varied terrain. Registration takes place at Strathpeffer Community Centre, around 1K from the start, and runners can look forward to refreshments at the finish after completing this traditional Highland hill race.
