Holme Howler 10K

The Holme Howler is a 10K multi terrain adventure run and obstacle race held at Holme, on the edge of the Lake District, as part of the annual Holme Festival of Sport. Combining trail running with a variety of man made obstacles, the event offers a fun and challenging experience for runners looking for something different from a traditional 10K.

Starting and finishing at Holme Sports Field, the route follows a mixture of roads, fields and canal towpaths before tackling obstacles including cargo nets, walls, monkey bars and the event's signature water slide. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a different theme each year adding to the lively atmosphere, while a shorter Half Howler option is available for younger and less experienced participants.

The event forms part of a full weekend of community activities including the Mini Howler, village fete, football tournament and post race celebrations. Combining obstacle running, scenic countryside and a welcoming festival atmosphere, the Holme Howler has become a popular summer adventure run in the North West.
