Road to the Isles Marathon and Festival of Running

Where will the Road to the Isles take you?

Entries still available for scenic springtime festival

With six weeks to go until race day, runners seeking a scenic springtime challenge still have time to get ready to take on the Road to the Isles Marathon & Festival of Running (Saturday, 7 May).

Based in the picturesque Highland village of Arisaig, the Road to the Isles routes take runners down some of the most beautiful minor roads in the UK – offering uninterrupted views of the islands of Muck, Rum and Eigg, and alongside the pristine white Caribbean beaches of Silver Sands and Camusdarach.

Places still remain available across all festival events, including the marathon, the half-marathon the 10K and the 5K.

And if, as organisers say, ‘running isn’t your thing’, the ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ offers a walking challenge along the half-marathon route.

The 2022 event will also feature a ‘Wee Run’ of 800 metres for children five and under.

All adult entries include a ‘very sassy’ Road to the Isles Running Festival technical t-shirt and the option to buy a limited-edition Blue Sea & Skies buff.

The Road to the Isles Festival of Running is organised by Mallaig Pool & Leisure, a social enterprise run by a small, dedicated team and volunteers from the community. Any profit from the event will be put towards staging further events and the maintenance of the facility.
