Ho Ho Ho In Herefordshire
Another Christmas event, this time in the rolling country lanes of Herefordshire...
When you’ve eaten too much turkey are are bored of the regurgitated Christmas TV on offer, there is only one thing for it this December... find a race to take part in! And why not make it the Hereford Couriers Christmas 10K?
Set for 28 December, this 10K is back for its fifth outing and will see runners enjoy a road race around the country lanes of Breinton in Herefordshire. The race action kicks off at Hereford Rugby Club with runners following a course around the rolling country lanes of Breinton.
Describing the route organisers say: "It's a great course with a mildly undulating route but it is suitable for runners of all abilities. It is held is on open road, albeit these roads are actually quiet lanes!"
Some 300 runners took part in 2022 but it was Ben Jones of Cambridge & Coleridge and Hereford Courier Addy Carter who showed they were top of the Christmas tree by clinching victories in the race. Jones had an impressive run leading from start to finish crossed the line to set a winning time of 32:47 while in the female race the ever improving-Courier Carter won in a fantastic time of 40:20.
Last word over to the organisers: "Our 10K route will be fully marked out and well-marshalled with a water station at the midway point, we’ve even got a festive medal for every finisher and the race will be chip-timed too!"
