The route is branded as a Half Marathon but measures around 13.5 Miles, with more than 2,000 feet of climbing across a very hilly course. Runners tackle steep ascents, sharp descents, country lanes, scenic viewpoints and testing sections including the well known climbs around Hendon Brook and the surrounding Lancashire countryside.
The event is held on roads and is professionally organised with marshals, a three hour time limit and a strong post race social atmosphere.
