Heights Ultra Trail is a community focused trail running festival exploring the moorlands, reservoirs and valleys around Huddersfield on the edge of the Peak District.
Four named races make up the main programme. The Scammonden 50 Mile is the longest challenge, joined by The Ramsden 50K, The Wessenden 27K and The HUT 10K. A Junior Trail Race gives younger runners the opportunity to take part in the festival too.
The longer routes are approximately 90% off road and take runners through the Colne and Holme valleys, combining trails, tracks, open moorland and substantial Pennine climbing. Routes are waymarked and supported by checkpoints, with mandatory safety kit required for the two ultras.
All four main races are licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules. Heights Ultra Trail is organised by volunteers as a charity event, with proceeds supporting local rural primary schools.
