Hardmoors 26.2 Goathland Trail Races

The Hardmoors 26.2 Goathland Trail Races take runners into the North York Moors on a choice of challenging circular trail routes from Goathland Village Hall. Part of the Hardmoors 26.2 Series, the event features marathon, half marathon and 10K options across demanding moorland terrain.

Each distance provides a substantial trail running challenge, with the marathon extending beyond the conventional 26.2 mile distance. The routes are not taped or signed, so runners must navigate using the supplied maps and route descriptions while carrying the compulsory kit required for their race. Generous time limits allow nine hours for the marathon, six hours for the half marathon and four hours for the 10K.

With significant climbing, exposed winter conditions and self navigation all forming part of the experience, Goathland is designed for runners looking for something more demanding than a conventional road race. All three distances start and finish from Goathland, providing a tough day of trail running in the distinctive landscape of the North York Moors.
