Get ready for a running challenge with a difference at The Groundhog Marathon, a unique event held at Telford Running Track in Shropshire. Organised by How Hard Can It Be Events, this popular race offers 10K, half marathon and marathon distances, welcoming everyone from experienced endurance athletes chasing a personal best to runners looking for a fun and sociable challenge.

The event takes place entirely on a 400m athletics track, with participants completing repeated laps to cover their chosen distance. The perfectly flat surface offers excellent opportunities for consistent pacing and fast finishing times, although the repetitive nature of the course provides as much of a mental challenge as a physical one. With no hills, traffic or tricky terrain to contend with, runners can concentrate on maintaining their rhythm and working towards their goals.

With pumping music, enthusiastic marshals and a lively atmosphere, The Groundhog Marathon transforms the running track into a memorable race-day experience. Chip timing keeps track of performances, while a well-stocked aid station provides refreshments throughout the challenge. Whether aiming for a good-for-age qualifying time, tackling a new distance or simply enjoying a day of running with friends, participants can look forward to a rewarding experience with plenty of encouragement along the way.
