The Grewelthorpe Multi Terrain Race is a challenging 13K single lap event based in the North Yorkshire village of Grewelthorpe, near Masham. The course explores the surrounding countryside and Swinton Estate, passing through the Himalayan Garden, Nutwith Woods and the old drovers road towards Lofthouse Moor.
Runners encounter back roads, fields, woodland, moorland, tracks and fords, with tough climbs and quick descents along the way. The route climbs above Grewelthorpe before descending towards the finish outside the village, with extensive views across the North Yorkshire countryside. Its varied surfaces and demanding profile make for a challenging mixed terrain race.
The community event supports St James's and Methodist Church, with local volunteers playing a central role. Registration and prize giving take place at Grewelthorpe Village Hall, where runners can return after finishing for homemade soup, tea and coffee.
