The Great Wilderness Challenge is a trail running event held in the north west Highlands of Scotland. The 10K starts and finishes at Poolewe Hall, while the longer routes explore remote Highland trails, estate tracks and rugged countryside, showcasing the spectacular scenery around Poolewe, Aultbea and Dundonnell.
Organised entirely to raise funds for charity, the event provides comprehensive support including marshals, first aid, refreshments and post race catering at Event HQ. Every finisher receives a medal, with the event attracting runners who want to combine a rewarding challenge with supporting worthwhile causes.
Whether you're taking on the 10K or tackling one of the longer distances, the Great Wilderness Challenge combines outstanding Highland scenery, excellent organisation and a memorable trail running experience in one of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes.
