Great North 10K Set For Biggest Ever Newcastle Turnout

Newcastle 10K set to grow...

The AJ Bell Great North 10K returns to Newcastle on Sunday 5 July 2026 with a 10K race set to bring thousands back onto the city streets for what is expected to be the biggest edition yet.

The route delivers a landmark filled tour of the city centre, including the iconic Tyne Bridge, with sections designed to keep runners engaged from start to finish. Strong crowd support, music and on route entertainment create a lively race day feel that builds throughout the course.

Now firmly established as one of the North East’s most popular races, the Great North 10K continues to grow year on year. After record numbers in 2025, the event has strengthened its position as a key summer fixture with broad appeal across experienced runners and those stepping up to their first major event.

Entries are now open and demand is expected to be strong following last year’s sell out. With a flat and accessible course that suits runners chasing a PB as well as those looking for a big event experience, places are likely to fill quickly.

With Newcastle providing a vibrant backdrop and the event building real momentum, the 2026 edition looks set to raise the bar again as one of the standout city centre races of the summer.
