The event is for solo runners and is designed to be unsupported with drop bags/checkpoint located at 6 points along the route. The route is fully marked with waymark and arrow signs.
The route starts at Corpach and follows the Caladonia Canal running past the famous Neptune Staircase and on passing, Loch Lochy, Loch Oich to Fort Augustas where you will head off up hill with stunning views of Loch Ness all the way to Drummnadrochit after which the final climb takes you over the hill and down into Inverness and finishing at Inverness Sports Centre with a lap of the 400m track just to complete your epic journey along the Great Glen Way.
This event has a shorter option – The Great Glen Ultra (Short Course) is a stunning 42mile foot race between Fort Augustas and Inverness following the Great Glen Way.
