The Great Glen Ultra Marathon is organised by Rocket Events and follows the Great Glen Way through the Scottish Highlands. Runners can choose between the full 73 mile route from Corpach near Fort William or the shorter 43 mile option from Fort Augustus, with both point to point races finishing at Inverness Sports Centre.
The fully waymarked courses follow the Caledonian Canal, forest trails, tracks and quiet paths through the Great Glen, passing landmarks including Neptune's Staircase, Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness. The 73 mile route covers the full Great Glen Way, while the 43 mile race joins the route at Fort Augustus before continuing above Loch Ness through Drumnadrochit and into Inverness.
The event is fully supported with checkpoints, drop bag facilities, comprehensive route marking and medical support throughout. Both races finish with a lap of the athletics track at Inverness Sports Centre, providing a memorable conclusion to one of Scotland's best known long distance trail running events.
