Organised by Winding Paths, the Summer Canal Canter takes place at Tiverton Canal Basin in Devon. The event features Half Marathon, 10K and 5K races along the Grand Western Canal, with profits supporting The Friends of the Grand Western Canal.
The routes follow the flat, hard packed gravel canal path beside the Grand Western Canal. The Half Marathon heads towards Sampford Peverell before returning to Tiverton, while the shorter races turn earlier on the out and back course. The low elevation and traffic free setting create a relaxed but fast running environment.
All finishers receive a bespoke Summer Canal Canter medal, with multiple distances making the event accessible to a wide range of runners. The combination of peaceful waterways, efficient organisation and support for the local canal charity makes this a distinctive Devon running event.
