Experience trail running at its best in this Cambridgeshire 10 miler...
Runners and their four-legged friends will return to one of Cambridgeshire’s most picturesque settings on Sunday 7 December for the ATW Grafham Water Trail and Canicross event.
The 10-mile trail run takes participants on a full circuit of the stunning Grafham Water Reservoir, starting on the iconic dam before heading out along the fast, scenic paths that wind through the Woodland Nature Reserve, past Dragonfly Pond and around Sanctuary Bay. The final stretch brings runners back along the dam wall for a spectacular finish overlooking the water.
Billed as the most scenic running event in Cambridgeshire, the race attracts trail enthusiasts, club runners and Canicross competitors looking for a challenge in a beautiful natural setting. The varied terrain and rolling countryside make it a rewarding route for all abilities, combining pace and views in equal measure.
Keen to make the experience as stress-free as possible organisers told us: "This year participants can camp the night before the race at Lakeview Paddock or stay in dormitory-style accommodation at the Grafham Water Centre, which provides an early and stress-free start on race morning!"
As well as celebrating the joy of running outdoors, the event supports a meaningful cause. Organisers are encouraging entrants to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK, helping to power vital work towards finding a cure for dementia.
