Gosport Half Marathon is a well established coastal road race organised by Gosport Road Runners in Hampshire. Starting near King's Academy Bay House Sports Centre on Browndown Road, the event is known for its flat, fast course and excellent personal best potential. It attracts club runners and individual competitors looking for a rewarding half marathon in a scenic seaside setting.
The two lap route takes runners along Lee-on-the-Solent promenade, with far reaching views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. The predominantly flat roads offer an opportunity to maintain a steady pace, while five water stations and enthusiastic marshals provide support throughout. A samba drum band adds to the atmosphere at two points along the course.
Part of the Hampshire Road Race League, Gosport Half Marathon features chip timing and attracts a strong field of runners each year. The event is supported by local volunteers and community groups, helping create a welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. Younger runners can also get involved through the 1K Fun Run and 2K Challenge Run held before the main race.
