Skeleton Run ready to deliver a trail thriller
End the week on a scary note at this Halloween themed event.
Tonight (28 October) participants will get into the Halloween spirit in Beacon Hill Country Park at the Skeleton Run. There may be a few spirits lurking around the trails at this night time run...
The Skeleton Run is 5 miles of rattling good fun from Pure Outdoor Events, open to people of all abilities aged 18 upwards. This is the event to show your creative side when it comes to costume as the bar has been raised over the years. Whilst fancy dress is optional it is certainly encouraged and, as there are spot prizes, it is even more of a good reason to unleash your inner devil/witch/zombie/ghost or skeleton.
Whatever outfit they choose runners and Nordic walkers must wear a head torch (or carry a handheld torch).
Participants set off at 7.30pm on a course lit with glowsticks and fluorescent signs with marshals situated at various points along the way. These designated trails are firm underfoot and go through the woods, include two climbs up Beacon Hill and a downhill section to the finish.
There are prizes for the first three men and women. Every finisher receives a medal, toffee apple and free photos by James Kirby.
Outdoor equipment brand Silva is supporting the event and will present the winning man and woman with a Silva Trail Runner Free H head torch. They are offering a 20% discount code to all participants.
Enjoy an evening running or walking 5 miles of spooky thrills then relax over food and drinks at the Beacon cafe. Can't ask for a better start to a weekend....
