The Gateshead Trail 10K is a beginner friendly trail race held in Derwent Walk Country Park, combining scenic countryside with a fast, flowing course. Designed to introduce more runners to trail running, the event uses wide, well maintained paths that are suitable for everyone from first time trail runners to experienced club athletes.
The single lap route follows traffic free trails through the country park, featuring only a few gentle inclines and a double loop section that keeps runners close together throughout the race. The popular start and finish village creates a lively atmosphere with food vendors, music, free parking, a bespoke finisher's medal and post race refreshments.
The Gateshead Trail 10K is one of the North East's most popular trail races for runners looking to move beyond the road while still enjoying a fast, non technical course.
