Flat Running In Lincs
Fancy a late autumn 10K PB?
We often wax lyrical about 'fast and flat' 10K races, but when the race is a Lincolnshire classic, you know that there must be some truth in the statement - the flat county is home to a number of speedy events and the Gainsborough Morton 10K is one of them.
Taking place this year on 19 November, why not chase down a late autumn PB and bask in the glory at this attractive Lincolnshire road race? Hurry though, this is a perennial favourite with runners who are targeting a fast time and entries sell out ahead of race day.
Speaking about their event, organisers Tape 2 Tape commented: "The race has been going since 2012 and is a popular one due to its flat and fast route! PB hunters and new runners alike all favour a place in this race that is held on fully closed roads with scenic views of rural Lincolnshire.
"You don’t need to be a club runner to join us as it is perfect for a first 10K. We promise that it will be a great confidence booster when you complete this flat course!"
The 10K route is flat and on wide roads – making it suitable for wheelchair athletes and visually impaired athletes with a guide runner. The organisers are more than willing to discuss individual requirements and where best to position themselves in the field. Popular with top amateurs and club runners who have their sights set on the prizes for the top three men and women, in addition to these are prizes for age category winners (male and female), first U20 male and female and team prizes for the first UKA clubs.
The reward for everyone else finishing this race will be a fantastic bespoke medal and a sausage/cheese roll!
