The Thornbridge Outdoors 20 is organised by the Friends of Thornbridge Outdoors (FOTO) and offers runners and walkers a challenging 20.3 mile adventure through the spectacular landscapes of the Peak District National Park. Covering approximately 850 metres of ascent, the event combines demanding trails, panoramic views and a friendly atmosphere while helping to raise funds that enable more young people to experience the benefits of outdoor learning through Thornbridge Outdoors.
Starting and finishing at Thornbridge Outdoors near Bakewell, the route begins with a lap of the historic Thornbridge Estate before heading towards Little Longstone, Longstone Edge, Eyam, Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge, Baslow Edge, Baslow and Chatsworth. Inspired by the much loved Thornbridge 18 route, the course offers a fresh clockwise challenge while retaining many of the classic Peak District highlights that have made this area a favourite with trail runners for decades.
Well stocked checkpoints, excellent organisation and a warm welcome at the finish, complete with refreshments and a celebratory atmosphere, make the Thornbridge Outdoors 20 a memorable endurance challenge for experienced runners and walkers alike.
