The Thornbridge Outdoors 20 is organised by the Friends of Thornbridge Outdoors and takes runners and walkers on a challenging 20.3 mile route through the Peak District National Park. With around 850 metres of ascent, the event combines demanding trails and panoramic views while raising funds to support outdoor learning at Thornbridge Outdoors.
Starting and finishing near Bakewell, the route begins with a lap of the Thornbridge Estate before heading through Little Longstone, Longstone Edge, Eyam, Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge, Baslow Edge, Baslow and Chatsworth. The clockwise course draws on the much loved Thornbridge 18 route while showcasing classic Peak District scenery.
Well stocked checkpoints support participants along the route, with refreshments and a welcoming atmosphere waiting at the finish. The varied terrain and substantial climbing create a rewarding endurance challenge for experienced runners and walkers.
