The Four Villages Half Marathon is a popular road running event organised by Helsby Running Club in Cheshire. Established as a community led race, it attracts runners from across the country and provides an opportunity to test fitness during winter training, particularly for those preparing for spring marathons.

The accurately measured Half Marathon follows rural roads through the villages surrounding Helsby, with a rolling course featuring both climbs and downhill sections. Runners can expect a varied countryside route, supported by marshals, pacers and water stations along the way. Chip timing records individual performances, while the three hour cut off provides a clear target for participants.

Starting at Helsby Community Sports Club and finishing near Hornsmill Primary School, the event benefits from enthusiastic local support and a strong running club atmosphere. The race also raises funds for local charities and community organisations, reflecting its longstanding connection with the surrounding villages.
