Don't Miss Out On This Great Wee Dram
Dramathon entries are... open!
Entries have opened for a 'dram' good race, and if you want to be a part of the action come October (21st) then you'll need to be quick as this event is a regular sell-out (and within days of going live!).
The Dramathon is made up of three trail races all of which pass through Scotland's famed whisky country. The main event is a marathon length ‘Full Dram’, but also on offer is a 21K Half Dram and 10K Wee Dram. There is also a 4 x 10K We Dram relay run which used the full Dram course and is a great way to take part as a team.
The races take place mostly on well-maintained paths along the beautiful Speyside Way with several distilleries dotted along the route offering sights and smells to ignite the senses. Depending on the distance run participants pick up the corresponding miniatures of single malt at the end of the race.
The Dramathon has grown in popularity over the years – a popularity no doubt due as much to the gorgeous autumn foliage along the Speyside Way as to these whisky miniatures that are included in the goody bags collected at the race finish at Glenfiddich Distillery. Glenfiddich is just one of the distilleries that participants can expect to encounter - with Glenfarclas, Ballindalloch, Tamdhu and Damlunach also on the itinerary depending on which distance is being covered.
Finishers also receive a medal made from a whisky barrel stave and a Glencairn tasting glass with Dramathon logo - so there are plenty of reasons for taking part. Organisers comment: "The Dramathon is beautifully structured and well-paced with a great finish. Just like a Speyside malt in fact..." And it's hard to disagree.
You can find out more at The Dramathon website - but remember, you need to be quick!
