Burnsall 10K

Head Due North For Top Trail Action

Fantastic Yorkshire trail series kicks off in April...

The Due North Trail Series returns in 2024 with races planned for April, June and September. Distances on offer include half marathon, 10K and a brand new 12K route at the first race in the series - Burnshall.

Kicking the trilogy off, Burnsall Half and 12K will take place on 20 April at the beautiful riverside location of Burnsall. Taking in several sections of the Dales Way Footpath with around 500m of ascent, climbs are rewarded with 360 degree views of the Yorkshire Dales. Riverside paths, stone tracks and open fields provide a great mix of terrain suitable for those new to trail running but also plenty of challenges and interest for the more experienced trail runner.

Burnsall 12K is a new addition to the Due North Trail series. The 12K route is the first 10K of the half marathon, with a diversion from Appletreewick to bring runners back to the finish line at Burnsall. Organisers comment: "The route is actually closer to 11K but as most trail race courses, it is not about the accuracy of a measured course, but the joy of running in such stunning countryside which makes the race so special."

The Kettlewell (Skirfare) Half is scheduled for 15 June and takes runners over three steep climbs with each descent thrilling enough to give them the adrenaline rush ready to take on the next climb. Climbing these hills will reward runners with spectacular views of Wharfedale, some of the most beautiful scenery in the Yorkshire Dales. The Kettlewell 10K will take the same route as the half marathon with runners taking on the big climb out of Arncliffe to the top of Arncliffe Moor.

Completing the trilogy is the Malham Half and 10K events which start in Malham Show Field. Runners will then head through the famous locations of Malham Cove and Malham Tarn with a climb up to Weets Top rewarding everyone with a beautiful long descent and amazing views all the way.
