Duchy an Dinas 5 is a challenging 5 mile race organised by St Austell Athletes Running Club, starting and finishing at the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery near Lostwithiel.
The mixed terrain course is approximately 90% trail and features more than 1,000ft of climbing. Runners descend into the valley before climbing towards Restormel Castle, where the route circles the historic English Heritage landmark and offers panoramic countryside views.
The course then drops into Restormel Woods, heading towards Lostwithiel before crossing the River Fowey and climbing back towards the nursery. A final loop through private woodland behind the nursery leads to the finish at the Woodland Terrace Tepee.
The race forms part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Race Series, with prizes for leading runners and age categories. All finishers receive a medal, while a proportion of entry fees supports Cornwall Mind.
