The Dollar Hill Race is organised by Ochil Hill Runners and takes place from Dollar Academy in Clackmannanshire. This classic Scottish hill race covers 15K with 960 metres of ascent and is intended for experienced runners who are confident navigating in open hill terrain.
The course climbs through Dollar Glen before ascending Saddle Hill, Whitewisp Hill, Tarmangie Hill, Andrew Gannel Hill and King's Seat, with runners navigating between checkpoints across largely unmarked grassy hillsides and rocky outcrops. A long descent via Bank Hill returns competitors to Dollar Glen before the final run back to the finish.
The event is held under Scottish hill running rules with mandatory kit checks before the start. Competitors must carry essential navigation and safety equipment, including a map, compass and full waterproof clothing. Friendly organisation and the demanding route have made the Dollar Hill Race a respected fixture in the Scottish hill running calendar.
