Derwentwater Trail 5K, 10K & 15K

Lakeland Trails Keswick is a multi distance trail running event based in Fitz Park, with 15K, 10K and 5K routes exploring the countryside around Derwentwater. The courses follow footpaths and bridleways beneath the northern Lake District fells, with panoramic views towards Skiddaw, Blencathra and the surrounding peaks.

Runners can choose from the 5K Sport Trail, 10K Trail Run or 15K Trail Race and Challenge options. The routes are mainly on hard packed trails with runnable climbs and descents, alongside occasional muddy sections and the distinctive boggy terrain of the Glenderaterra Valley. Courses are fully marked and marshalled, making the event suitable for experienced trail runners as well as those stepping onto the trails for the first time.

Fitz Park provides a lively start and finish setting with race commentary, live music, food and drink throughout the day. A free Children's Fun Trail also gives younger runners the chance to take part, while the combination of Lake District scenery and varied trail distances creates a distinctive running festival in Keswick.
