DirtRun Valentines In The Dark Medal

Date Night At Valentine’s Trail Run

The course of true love was off-road as runners got into the romantic spirit at the DirtRun Valentine’s in the Dark (14 February). Everyone was feeling loved up at this night time affair.

Part of the DirtRun series of multi-terrain races from Pulse Pursuits, the Valentine’s Trail Run was held on a windy evening at The Valley near Evesham in Worcestershire. There were several race distances to choose from including 5K Youth and adult, 10K adult and a 2.5K junior run. In keeping with the theme, there was a new couples event as a relay in which one half of the pair ran 5K then handed over a ‘heart’ baton to their other half who also completed 5K.

The junior run started at 18.30pm followed by the youth/adult runs at 19.00pm with the seniors completing two laps of the tracks and trails around Evesham Country Park. Fancy dress was optional but head torches were mandatory at this event. Entrants were treated to hugs and kisses from Pulse Pursuits very own Cupid and there were Valentine’s Day medals and Love Hearts for everyone.

This event was sponsored by Teme Brewery with £1 donation from all adult entries going to St Richard’s Hospice.

Pulse Pursuits offer a range of DirtRun events from 2.5K to 32 miles that are organised in conjunction with The National Trust, the Forestry Commission and the Heart of England Forest. The next event is DirtRun Mortimer Madness Half Marathon on the 25 February.
