Organised by OuterEdge Events, Dartmoor Great Escape takes place in Dartmoor National Park as part of the Dartmoor Big Day Out. The 25K trail race starts in Princetown and finishes at Ivybridge Rugby Club, offering runners a shorter point to point adventure across the heart of Dartmoor.
The route follows the final section of The Crossing, travelling through open moorland, the Erme Valley and the Abbots Way before the descent into Ivybridge. The fully marked course combines remote trails, wide open landscapes and varied Dartmoor terrain, providing a challenging but rewarding long Half Marathon experience.
The event includes coach transport to the start, marked routes, marshals, checkpoints and a bespoke finisher medal. With its linear format, dramatic scenery and supportive organisation, Dartmoor Great Escape offers a memorable introduction to trail running in the national park.
