The Pitsea RC Crown to Crown July is the fourth race in the Pitsea RC Crown to Crown Series, a programme of seven measured 5K trail races organised throughout the year. Held at Westley Heights Country Park, the series welcomes runners of all abilities to enjoy friendly, affordable off road racing on a consistent course.
The measured 5K route starts on Beeleigh Avenue before following a mixture of bridleways and short tarmac sections via Lee Chapel Lane and Essex Wildlife Trust's Willow Park, returning to finish at Westley Heights Country Park. The varied terrain provides an enjoyable trail running experience while allowing runners to compare performances across the series.
Held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association permit, the event features a fully marshalled course, gun to finish timing, first aid support and contributes towards the overall Pitsea RC Crown to Crown Series standings. Combining welcoming club organisation, accessible trail running and a well established series format, the July race is a popular fixture in the Essex summer running calendar.
