The Coxhoe Trail Run is an approximately 10K trail race through the countryside of County Durham, following a varied route between Coxhoe and Kelloe. Starting from the public byway near Coxhoe Hall, the course explores former railway lines, quarry paths and established trails before finishing close to the starting point.
Runners follow the Old Kelloe Way and the well marked Limestone Linx loop on a rolling course with frequent changes in terrain and elevation. The route is Garmin measured at approximately 10K and provides a scenic alternative to conventional road racing, with countryside views and the character of the area's former industrial landscape along the way.
Registration takes place at Active Life Centre in Coxhoe before runners make their way to the start near Coxhoe Hall. With a friendly community atmosphere, prizes for leading finishers and veteran categories, and a varied countryside course, the Coxhoe Trail Run provides an accessible but challenging event for trail runners.
