Cordwell Colossus is a summer trail race organised by First Light Adventure, taking place on the edge of the Peak District in North Derbyshire. The 20 mile route starts and finishes at Holmesfield Parish Hall near Dronfield, with runners exploring the beautiful Cordwell Valley and surrounding countryside.
The looped course combines runnable trails, quiet lanes, woodland paths, single track and natural tracks, with plenty of variety underfoot. The route includes a mixture of climbs and descents, rewarding runners with stunning views from the higher ground across the Derbyshire landscape.
The event has a relaxed and friendly trail running atmosphere, with checkpoints providing food and water, medical support and a six-hour time limit. Every finisher receives a medal, with prizes for the first male and female finishers and refreshments available at the finish.
