Cock-a-Doodle Dawdle returns for its third year at the beautiful Hyde Hall Farm in Hertfordshire. This exclusive venue provides a scenic and welcoming setting, bringing together like-minded runners to take on a range of distances in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
Participants can choose from 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, or ultra marathon distances. The event operates with a six-hour cut-off for those starting at 9 am, and a four-hour cut-off for those starting at 11 am. A standard “heavy half marathon” consists of five laps, with the option to increase this to six or seven on the day. The standard ultra marathon is nine laps, with the flexibility to extend this up to twelve laps depending on the time available.
The route begins at the base camp within Hyde Hall Farm and loops around the surrounding grounds, offering a mix of scenery throughout. Whether you are completing your first official 10K, half marathon, full marathon, or ultra marathon, or adding to an already significant running journey, the self-contained nature of the venue creates an intimate event with exclusive use of the main area and plenty of open space.
A water and aid station will be available at the lap point, so there is no need to carry large amounts of food, water, or equipment. Parking is included and secure on site, with a parking attendant available to guide you on arrival and direct you towards the start area, where you will collect your race number.
All finishers will receive a bespoke medal at the end of the race. If you choose the lucky dip option, where available, you will be able to select from a range of previous event medals instead. The course is primarily trail-based, with sections of tarmac paths, grassland, and natural trails.
A baggage area will be provided so you can leave warm clothing and spare shoes for after your run. Please note that this is a cupless event, so all participants should bring their own cups or bottles for refilling refreshments.
