Organised by Chippenham Harriers, the River Run is a community running event in Chippenham, Wiltshire, featuring a 5K race alongside a 2K Fun Run for younger runners. Held on a summer evening, it attracts runners of all ages and abilities from the local area and beyond.
The largely traffic free mixed terrain course follows the banks of the River Avon, starting and finishing in Monkton Park near the Olympiad Leisure Centre. Runners experience a combination of grass, gravel, compacted paths and paved sections, creating an enjoyable and varied route.
The event offers age category prizes, with a technical T shirt for all 5K finishers and medals for all 2K Fun Run finishers. Registration, race headquarters and facilities are based at the Olympiad Leisure Centre, helping create a friendly and well organised evening of racing.
