Chip Chase is a 10K fell race organised by Saddleworth Runners from the Cross Keys Inn in Uppermill, Saddleworth.
The BS category course heads into the Peak District hills overlooking Manchester, combining runnable paths with around 400m of ascent and one particularly steep climb. The route is fully flagged and marshalled, making Chip Chase an accessible introduction to fell racing while still providing a testing course for experienced runners.
The event is held under Fell Runners Association rules and has a minimum age of 18. Its traditional fell race character extends to the finish at the Cross Keys Inn, where the entry fee includes chip butties for runners after the race. Team competition is also included, with men's and women's teams determined by the first four finishers from each club.
