Organised by Saddleworth Runners, Chip Chase 2026 takes place on Sunday 9th August 2026 from the Cross Keys Inn in Uppermill, Saddleworth. This BS category fell race offers a 10K challenge through the hills of the Peak District, with runners enjoying views across the Manchester skyline.
The route covers approximately 10K with around 400m of ascent, following flagged and marshalled paths across rugged hill terrain. The course provides a good introduction to fell running, combining runnable sections with one steep climb to test competitors.
The event has a traditional fell race feel, with chip timing, checkpoints and support from marshals along the course. Finishers can enjoy chip butties at the finish, with prizes awarded for leading runners, age categories and teams.
