40 Years For Cheadle RC
Cheadle Running Club is marking its 40th anniversary with a special bit of bling...
Cheadle Running Club is marking its 40th anniversary in style this year, with a special incentive for runners who take part in both of its flagship races. To celebrate the milestone, the Staffordshire club is introducing a limited edition commemorative medal for anyone who completes the Cheadle Spring 5 and the Cheadle 4 Mile Road Race in 2026.
A spokesperson from the club said: "The bespoke dual medal has been designed to recognise the club’s four decades at the heart of the local running community. As an added bonus, the top three runners across the two races combined will also receive an extra prize."
The first event in the anniversary series is the Cheadle Spring 5, which takes place on 29 March. The five mile race is a popular early season outing set around the town of Cheadle and the surrounding Staffordshire countryside. The single lap course uses quiet country lanes and is known as a welcoming but competitive start to the racing year.
The celebrations continue on 28 June with the long established Cheadle 4 Mile Road Race, a fixture in the North Staffordshire Road Runners Association series, the scenic rural course regularly attracts a strong field. The event is well supported by marshals and offers excellent race headquarters facilities, making it a family friendly occasion as well as a competitive one.
For Cheadle Running Club, the anniversary year provides a chance not only to celebrate its history but also to bring runners together for two well loved races on the local calendar.
