Mud Madness takes place in the grounds of Chatelherault Country Park near Hamilton, with a 5K family mud run built around obstacles, muddy sections and water hazards. The course starts and finishes on the main lawn and includes a memorable section around the River Avon.
The 5K gives runners a mixed terrain challenge through the country park, with the marked course using signs, tape and arrows and marshals positioned along the route. Obstacles are spread throughout the course alongside water features, making this a run where tackling the terrain and obstacles is as much a part of the experience as covering the distance.
A separate 1K Mini Mud Run takes place entirely on the lawn and is designed for children aged 4 to 11, with marshals at each obstacle. Mud Madness is geared towards families and groups, with participants receiving an event T-shirt and collecting a medal at the finish.
