Chase the Train is a distinctive 8.9 mile race following the Bure Valley Railway from Aylsham to Wroxham. Starting at Aylsham Station, the linear route follows the railway through the Norfolk countryside before finishing at Wroxham Station.
The predominantly flat course follows footpaths alongside the railway, with some uneven sections, roots and low branches to negotiate. Runners pass through the countryside on their way towards Wroxham, with water stations around miles three and six and chip timing recording results at the finish.
Organised by North Norfolk Beach Runners, Chase the Train is a popular event with a field limited to 220 runners. Finishers receive a medal, and a special train service provides an unusual way for runners to make the return journey from Wroxham to Aylsham after the race.
