Heading south from Redcar beach, you’ll finish in the beautiful fishing town of Whitby. You’ll pass the ‘Circle’ sculpture in between miles 7 and 8. Affectionately known as The Charm Bracelet, it’s name inspired the marathon. You’ll pass through coastal villages, run on the sand, watch the world from high up on the cliffs, and immerse yourself in everything the Cleveland Way has to offer.
The Charm Bracelet Marathon is a trail running event, so don’t expect it to be easy under foot. You will encounter mud, sand, rocks, trees, and more mud.
There is 3263 ft of elevation over the 26.57 mile route, so if you’re looking for a nice flat race this one probably isn’t for you.
We are an all inclusive event, and our generous 10 hour cutoff allows for walkers.
