Casterbridge Canter Trail Run

The Casterbridge Canter Trail Run is organised by the Dorchester Middle School PTFA and takes place at Higher Came Farm near Dorchester. Offering 5K and 10K trail races, the event gives runners exclusive access to a private family estate that is opened for this race each year, creating a unique summer evening trail running experience.

Both fully signed and marshalled routes cross a mixture of pasture, grass margins, stubble fields and stony farm tracks, with panoramic views across the Dorset countryside towards Hardy's Monument, Maiden Castle, Dorchester and Poundbury. The challenging multi terrain courses are suitable for a wide range of abilities, with the 10K including an on course aid station.

Held under Association of Running Clubs rules, the event features chip timing, finisher's medals, prizes across a range of categories and full medical support. With post race refreshments, a licensed bar and barbecue at race headquarters, the Casterbridge Canter combines rewarding trail running with a welcoming community atmosphere while raising funds for Dorchester Middle School PTFA.
