Carsington Water 10K & Half Marathon April

Carsington Water Trail Half Marathon & 10K April is organised by RunThrough at Carsington Water, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Part of a programme of races held at the reservoir throughout the year, the April event offers two trail distances combining open waterside scenery with the surrounding countryside and woodland.

The Half Marathon starts at Carsington Water Visitor Centre and follows an out and back section before completing a circuit of the reservoir, with approximately 200 metres of elevation gain. The 10K starts separately at Millfields Car Park and follows almost a complete circuit of the water. Both routes use undulating trail paths, with a mixture of climbs and descents, and finish at the main event village beside the visitor centre.

Both distances are chip timed, with marshals, directional signs and trail markers guiding runners around the courses. Water stations are provided along each route, while finishers receive a themed medal, refreshments and free official race photography. Baggage facilities are available at both starts, with bags from the 10K transported to the finish.
