Cardiff joins SuperHalfs
The Cardiff Half Marathon will be one of five leading 13.1 mile events that is part of the new SuperHalfs international running series, it has been confirmed. Cardiff joins Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen and Valencia in the series, which aims to bring together some of the world’s best events with the aim of promoting running, tourism and environmental sustainability in each of the member cities.
Almost 100,000 participants are set to race at five iconic locations when the inaugural series gets underway in 2020. Runners will have access to a SuperRunner experience, including guaranteed registrations, special race numbers with priority pick up, original merchandising, virtual SuperRunner Passport, a SuperMedal (after completing the series) and the chance to see their names go down in the SuperHalfs Hall of Fame.
The new series offers running enthusiasts the unique opportunity to map out their own running adventure and be rewarded for their efforts with exclusive benefits. All runners have to do to begin their journey is sign up for any of the SuperHalfs races in 2020.
News of Cardiff’s inclusion will be a massive boost ahead of the staging on Sunday 4 October, 2020. Now standing as one of the UK’s top half marathons, the event boasts a course that passes all of the city’s most breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, historic Civic Centre and stunning Cardiff Bay.
