CancerCare's Santa Dash & Festive 5/10K brings seasonal running and fundraising to the heart of Lancaster. Taking place alongside the city's Christmas lights switch on celebrations, the event welcomes families, recreational runners and those looking for a festive challenge while supporting the local cancer and bereavement charity CancerCare.
Participants can choose between a 1 mile Santa Dash through Lancaster city centre and longer 5K and 10K routes. The family friendly Santa Dash is open to all ages and abilities, while the festive 5K heads from the city centre onto a traffic free riverside path. The 5K and 10K both follow out and back routes, providing opportunities to enjoy a longer run as part of Lancaster's Christmas celebrations.
Every participant receives a Santa hat and medal, with Santa Dash finishers also receiving a candy cane. The event has a special connection to Lancaster's Christmas lights switch on, with the leading young fundraiser given the opportunity to help illuminate the city alongside Father Christmas. All three distances help raise funds for CancerCare's support services.
