It is a fast and flat run on great surfaces along the historic Rochdale Canal towpath starting (50K starts in Manchester) and ending at Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire.

Race across the Yorkshire & Lancashire Counties.
Racing across mountains, hills, fells and trails in Ultra-marathon distances is great for the body and soul. However the opportunity to record fast, flat miles over Ultra distances is not often achievable. For this reason, The Canalathon Ultra has been created years ago and now under new management we're bringing it back to the running community.
No navigation needed, no hill climbing necessary, just worry about getting from point A to B.
Our Race HQ is at The Sowerby Bridge Cricket Club and The Canalathon 5k, 10k and 100k races will start here. 50km race starts in Manchester and Half marathon starts on the canal. All races will finish in Sowerby Bridge.
