Welsh Trailbit
How about a trip to Wales for a springtime trail race?
Hop over the border this spring for the Brynkinalt Running Festival in Wrexham. The Welsh event has broad appeal with runners regularly attending from the Midlands and brings together an active community of people taking part in sporting events, fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or to simply finish.
The races start at the stunning Brynkinalt Hall near Wrexham with the chance to run either 5K or 10K (approximate distances) in the amazing surroundings of the Brynkinalt Estate. Each race offers a challenging route for all trail runners and takes in some breathtaking scenery overlooking the private estate that is normally closed to the public.
Organisers say: "The routes offer a great blend of fast footpaths through to grassed areas and the odd small stoney section. We have a little bit of everything including great climbs with beautiful views."
At the finish line runners will receive a medal and be allowed to enjoy the festival atmosphere in stunning surroundings. A previous participant, Stuart had this to say: "This event was great, well organised, but more importantly you focused on the people involved. The attention to detail was off the scale. You supported a great cause. Job done."
