Embrace the challenge of winter running at the Horsford Cross Country Series, a popular series of off-road races organised by Norwich Road Runners. Set in the woodland surroundings of Horsford and Felthorpe near Norwich, these races offer an enjoyable test of fitness and endurance for runners who prefer muddy trails and natural terrain to the roads.

The courses wind through forest trails and woodland paths, with senior runners completing three laps through the trees. Changing underfoot conditions, uneven ground and the possibility of plenty of mud make each race a rewarding challenge, particularly during the colder winter months. The woodland setting provides an atmospheric backdrop for runners looking to test their cross-country skills.

With its friendly, grassroots atmosphere and traditional cross-country feel, the Horsford series offers an enjoyable opportunity to experience competitive off-road running. Whether building fitness, improving cross-country technique or simply embracing the mud, participants can look forward to a satisfying challenge in the Norfolk countryside.
