The Bridlington Beach 5K is organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in partnership with Bridlington Road Runners and takes place on Bridlington South Beach. This distinctive coastal event offers runners the opportunity to race along the shoreline in one of Yorkshire's most popular seaside destinations, with a Fun Run also forming part of the day's activities.
The 5K course follows the beach and coastline on firm sand, creating a unique running experience that differs from traditional road or trail races. Wide open coastal views, the fresh sea air and the changing beach environment combine to provide an enjoyable and memorable route beside the North Sea.
Held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association licence, the event features chip timing, a finisher's medal, commemorative T shirt and post race refreshments. Its friendly atmosphere, seaside setting and unusual beach course have established the Bridlington Beach 5K as a popular fixture in the Yorkshire summer running calendar.
