The Brecon Beacons 51K is organised by RunThrough Trails and starts from Talybont-on-Usk in Powys, within the spectacular Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The event features a challenging 51K mountain ultra alongside a companion 24K trail race, with both routes showcasing some of the finest mountain scenery in Wales.

Starting from the village of Talybont-on-Usk, the routes follow a combination of reservoir paths, forestry tracks, open moorland and mountain trails through the heart of the national park. Runners are rewarded with sweeping views towards Pen y Fan, Cribyn and the surrounding Black Mountains, while the varied terrain and significant elevation create a rewarding challenge for experienced trail runners. The 24K offers a shorter but equally scenic introduction to the landscape, sharing sections of the same spectacular terrain.

Both races are fully supported with chip timing, well stocked aid stations, clearly marked routes, GPX navigation files, experienced marshals and medical support. Every finisher receives a themed medal, free official photographs and post race refreshments, with the event held under Trail Running Association rules.
