The Brean Banger is an approximately 10K multi terrain race organised by Burnham-on-Sea Harriers and held on the Somerset coast. Starting and finishing at Brean, the event combines beach running, coastal trails and hill climbing to create a distinctive summer evening challenge.
The route follows a varied course across Brean Beach, sand dunes, grassy paths and coastal trails before climbing to the summit of Brean Down. Runners pass the historic Brean Down Fort and trig point before descending towards the finish, enjoying panoramic views across the Bristol Channel and Somerset coastline along the way. The combination of sand, trails, grass and tarmac provides a rewarding multi terrain experience.
The event features a fully marshalled course, finisher's medal, water station and prizes across a range of categories. Combining spectacular coastal scenery, varied terrain and friendly club organisation, the Brean Banger has quickly established itself as a popular fixture in the Somerset running calendar.
